Dr. Mohd.Fariduddin Bin Othman has served with Department of Fisheries Malaysia for more than 30 years in aquaculture research. He is currently Director of Freshwater Aquaculture Research Division. He graduated with Bac.of Science (Fisheries) from University of Agricultural (UPM), Malaysia and obtained his Master and PhD from University of Science Malaysia (USM). He specialized in shrimp and prawns breeding and farming. He also master in aquaculture live food production and biotechnology related works. He leads and involved in several aquaculture task forces such as brood stock development program, aquaculture site study and system development and climate change impact study on aquaculture. He is currently a member of MARDI science council, FAO focal point on genetic aquatic resources, NCER aquaculture adviser and ABI-MOSTI referee. He is also a council member of Malaysia Fisheries Society and actively involved as aquaculture adviser, co-supervisor to post graduate students and provide talk on his major subject to aquaculture stake holders and target group as well as general public and graduate students.
