DESCRIPTION:Introduction\nAquaculture sector has been identified as one of the main drivers in ensuring food security. However\, diseases are among the major obstacles to efficient production in many aquaculture systems. Understanding diseases in aquatic ecosystems should be emphasized to improve and strategize for disease control. Health management\, especially the preventive and immunoprophylactic measures such as vaccination\, immune boosters and marker-assisted selection of resistant broodstocks and also disease-management practices in culture systems have been increasingly been promoted to ensure sustainable development in aquaculture. This seminar is the platform to learn about the latest advancement of knowledge in aquaculture diseases and health measures. \nObjectives\n\nTo provide an update on emerging diseases threatening aquaculture industry.\nTo promote advancement of knowledge on diagnostic approaches and biomarkers for disease identification\nTo expose latest information on vaccine applications\, new development in probiotics\, therapeutics and other immunoprophylactic strategies used in aquaculture.\nTo understand disease-management practices in culture systems for sustainable aquaculture.\n\nPlease refer to http://www.icfish.my/ for more details.
